Introducing Live Recording: Real-Time Game Analysis Made Simple

Live Recording header

At Metrica Sports, we’re constantly evolving to help coaches, analysts, and players gain deeper insights into their games. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our latest feature: Live Recording. This game-changing tool is designed to revolutionize how you break down matches in real time, empowering you with flexible, efficient, and seamless workflows.

Gone are the days of waiting for post-game video files to analyze crucial moments. With Live Recording, you can capture, analyze, and share highlights on the go, ensuring you never miss a beat – even as the action unfolds on the pitch, court, or field.

Meet the Powerhouses: Live Canvas and Live Timeline

At the core of Live Recording are two powerful modules: Live Canvas and Live Timeline. These tools work together to give you maximum control and versatility when capturing video and audio. Whether you’re working with high-end capture devices, or even your iPhone/iPad (via AirDrop), the possibilities are endless. And for those using live streams or systems like VEO or Spiideo, we’ve made integration smoother than ever.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what you can expect:

Live Canvas: This feature allows you to visualize multiple streams at once, so you can track different angles or perspectives of the game, making your analysis more comprehensive.

Live Timeline: Use the Live Timeline to organize and manage multiple video timelines in real-time. Seamlessly scrub through the footage, mark key moments, and focus on what matters most.

No matter which source you’re capturing from, you’ll have a real-time feed that you can edit, analyze, and share in just a few clicks.

Streamlined Workflow with a Flexible UI

We know how important efficiency is, so we’ve built our Live Recording UI to be as flexible and intuitive as possible. Perform multiple tasks at once without disrupting your workflow, allowing you to focus more on the analysis and less on the tech.

Key Features:

Shortcuts for Quick Action: With shortcuts like S/R or Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+S/R, you can save or record straight into the selected container with ease. This means you’re never more than a keystroke away from capturing the most important moments.

Multiple Timelines and Canvases: Need to keep track of more than one perspective? No problem. Play3 supports multiple timelines and canvases to help you manage different views at once. Just remember – shortcuts and actions apply to the one in focus (outlined by the green border).

Pause During Capture: One of the standout features is the ability to pause during capture. This ensures your recordings remain seamless, preventing split files and allowing for a smoother review process later on.

Easy Sharing 📤

We’ve simplified sharing with our new “Copy to Clipboard” option after exporting videos or containers. Now, you can easily paste the file directly into platforms like Slack, Teams, or WhatsApp with Ctrl/Cmd+V
